Ibiolab

FEDIOL has participated in an EU-sponsored research program for the development of bio-lubricants (vegetable oil based).

As >95% of the EU lubricant market is mineral oil-based and as 30% of lubricants end up in the ecosystem = need for the development of (highly bio-degradable) bio-lubricants.

The development of bio-lubricants needs considerable investments in Research (functionality of raw materials, performance-, bio-degradability- and eco-toxicity-testing of the bio-lubricant) and also in the obtaining of the EU ECO-Label.

Goal of the Ibiolab project: Stimulate the research on vegetable oil based bio-lubricants in order to increase their market share, thus reinforcing the competitiveness of SMEs while creating environmental benefits.
